RISKADAPT at the EGU General Assembly 2024 in Vienna, Austria

ALMA MATER STUDIORUM – University of Bologna (UNIBO) presented RISKADAPT’s research efforts at the EGU General Assembly 2024, shedding light on the impact of the Bora wind on coastal infrastructure.

During the session, Petros Ampatzidis from the University of Bologna, provided insights regarding the consequences of the Bora wind, particularly on tall buildings vulnerable to high winds and wind-driven rain. The scope of the collaborative study focuses on assessing the Bora-wind-induced atmospheric forces exerted on the high-rise Cattinara hospital in Trieste, Italy, a location where strong Bora winds often occur during the autumn and winter seasons, posing an increased risk of functionality loss.

The presentation session was followed by an interactive discussion phase, offering valuable insights and feedback.
