The RISKADAPT consortium organised a joint Workshop and Clustering Event titled “Bridge Flood Risk and Low-Carbon Climate Adaptation Strategies”.
The event brought together experts and partners from different European countries to exchange knowledge and present advances in flood risk assessment, climate resilience and low-carbon adaptation strategies for infrastructure.
Workshop Highlights
The workshop presentations covered a wide range of topics including:
- Climatological models and climate change in RISKADAPT
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling regarding floods
- Flood Fragility Assessment of Bridges
- End-of-life bridges, downtime and socio-economic impacts
- LCA/LCC and carbon adaptation solutions

Clustering Event
The second session, constituted a Clustering Event, focused on collaboration and knowledge exchange among EU-funded projects addressing climate adaptation of critical infrastructure.
Participating projects included Sister Projects:
ICARIA: Improving Climate Resilience of critical assets
MIRACA: Multi-hazard Infrastructure Risk Assessment for Climate Adaptation
and Cluster Projects:
PLOTO: Deployment and Assessment of Predictive modelling, environmentally sustainable and emerging digital technologies and tools for improving the resilience of IWW against Climate change and other extremes
ReCharged: Climate-aware Resilience for Sustainable Critical and interdependent Infrastructure Systems enhanced by emerging Digital Technologies
The aim of the Clustering Event was to present the ongoing work and tools developed within the RISKADAPT project, share insights on risk assessment of critical infrastructures under extreme events, discuss low-carbon and climate adaptation strategies, and strengthen synergies and cooperation among sister and cluster projects.
The event successfully fostered collaboration and dialogue, reinforcing the shared commitment of EU research projects to create resilient and sustainable infrastructure systems in the face of climate change.
