On 7–8 July 2025, the RISKADAPT consortium held its 4th Plenary Meeting and the Pilot 3 demonstration and training workshop in Trieste, Italy, hosted by our partner, the Municipality of Trieste.
As we enter the final phase of the project, this two-day event offered a valuable opportunity to assess progress, align on upcoming deliverables and strengthen engagement with local stakeholders. The plenary meeting, held on the first day, brought together all partners to review project status, share technical updates and coordinate strategic planning for the remaining months.
The second day the agenda included:
- Introduction to the RISKADAPT project and its objectives
- Climate change modelling and hazard analysis
- Pilot site-specific insights and adaptation challenges
- Live demonstration and training session on the PRISKADAPT platform
- Feedback collection through stakeholder questionnaires
Participants investigated climate-induced risks and adaptation needs at the asset level of Cattinara Hospital (Pilot 3). Moreover, the platform’s adaptability to different infrastructure types and climate risk contexts was illustrated. Over 35 participants took part in the workshop, including project partners and local stakeholders such as civil protection authorities and municipal representatives and technical experts.
In addition to Pilot 3, a presentation of Pilot 4, focused on high-rise buildings in Hong Kong was also included, illustrating the platform’s adaptability to different infrastructure types and climate risk contexts.
To ensure inclusive participation and maximize dissemination impact the workshop materials (questionnaires, flyers and roll-up banners) were translated into Italian and live translation between English and Italian was provided throughout the workshop and training sessions. These efforts enabled full participation by local attendees, enhanced the quality of feedback and reinforced the connection between technical development and real-world application.
The event underscored the platform’s growing maturity and highlighted the importance of stakeholder-driven adaptation planning.
