Pilot 3 Stakeholder Workshop: Cattinara Hospital in Trieste, Italy

On November 8, Comune di Trieste hosted a dedicated workshop as part of the Pilot 3 activities in RISKADAPT, focusing on the structural resilience of Cattinara Hospital, a high-rise building in Trieste known for being affected by the area’s extreme Bora winds.

This technical workshop, organized for local engineers, architects, surveyors, and other professionals, drew around 20 participants representing both private firms and public institutions, including Trieste’s local health agency and council housing authority.

With experts from UniBo and Tecnic leading the sessions, the workshop offered an in-depth exploration of:

▪ Deterministic and probabilistic assessments of building safety.
▪ Adaptation strategies for structural resistance.
▪ Insights from our RISKADAPT platform on engineering and social impacts.

Participants engaged actively, asking questions, sharing insights, and building connections within a Community of Practice (CoP) dedicated to advancing structural safety and resilience. As a follow-up, they’ll receive access to the presentations, and their feedback and suggestions will help to further shape our work.
